# Getting Started

[Rankavi](https://rankavi.com/) is a software as a service (SaaS) platform that publishes brand mentions in articles on indexed third-party websites.

## 1. Create your account

Sign up at [app.rankavi.com/sign-up](https://app.rankavi.com/sign-up) with just an email. No credit card required to create an account.

## 2. Add credits

Each brand mention costs one credit.

* Buy a single credit, or save up to 20% with a pack of 20 or 50 credits.
* Credits never expire.
* Prefer done-for-you? Choose a monthly plan and we handle research, writing, and placement for you.

Add credits from [app.rankavi.com/credits](https://app.rankavi.com/credits).

## 3. Submit your article

Submit up to 5,000 words per article. Write a "best of" listicle, review, or brand comparison to maximize results. Rankavi's editor supports structured HTML: tables, lists, captions, and more.

You can submit from the dashboard, or automate it with [the API](/rankavi-docs/api-reference.md).

## 4. We place your mention

We match your article to a real, indexed, niche-relevant publication from a network of over 20,000 sites across 74 niches. You can't hand-pick a specific site, since natural, niche-relevant placement is what keeps mentions credible to Google and AI systems.

## 5. Get confirmation

You'll receive an email with a link to your live article once it's published. Turnaround is usually one working day or less, depending on volume.

If your mention is unpublished, broken, or returns a 404 error, you get your credit back. Every mention comes with a 100% placement guarantee.

## 6. Track your mentions

Every mention you submit shows up in [My Mentions](https://app.rankavi.com/mentions), with its publication date, title, live status, and real Ahrefs metrics: DR (Domain Rating), RD (referring domains), and BL (backlinks).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://rankavi.gitbook.io/rankavi-docs/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
